This year, AIIFAR has introduced an innovative patent DTF printing technology known as "Interweave Printing." This technology relies on advanced algorithms to synchronize the printer's nozzle with the speed of paper movement seamlessly. The print head plays a crucial role in the printer as it is responsible for spraying ink to form images or text. However, due to its complex structure and functionality, the print head is relatively delicate. Therefore, special attention should be given to the maintenance and care of the print head to avoid damage caused by collisions or improper use. Regular cleaning and proper usage of the printer are essential steps to keep the print head healthy and extend its lifespan.   Every time we start the printer, we need to activate the automatic cleaning function. However, after extended use, you may encounter a situation where even after multiple cleaning attempts, there are still missing large color blocks or no improvement at all when printing a test page. This indicates that your printer's print head needs a manual cleaning.   To perform a manual cleaning, you will need the following materials: 1 bottle of cleaning liquid 2-3 syringes 3-4 bottles of distilled water A pack of tissues   Preparation:   Place tissues on both sides of the print head to protect it from water damage during the cleaning process.Carefully remove the dampers and set them aside.   Step 1 - Start Cleaning: Using a syringe, draw approximately 10ml of distilled water and insert the syringe's nozzle into the print head's channel. Inject the water to clean each channel of the print head. Repeat this process for each channel.   Step 2 - Extract Waste Ink: Reverse flush the print head channels to draw out any trapped waste ink. Be careful when handling the syringe plunger to prevent waste ink from re-entering the channels. Repeat this process for each channel.   Note: At this stage, the syringe's hose will be filled with waste ink. Before proceeding to the next step, it is essential to clean the hose by extracting distilled water. If you find it cumbersome, you can use a new syringe. Also, ensure that the distilled water used for flushing the channels is not contaminated with ink; otherwise, replace it with a fresh bottle of distilled water.   Step 3 - Repeat Steps 1 and 2: The channels usually require multiple rinses to be thoroughly cleaned. Therefore, repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the water flowing out from the channels becomes clear and free of impurities. Make sure every channel is clean and free of hidden waste ink before moving on to the next step.   Step 4 - Deep Cleaning: Using a syringe, draw approximately 10ml of cleaning liquid and inject it into the channels for flushing. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes, allowing the cleaning liquid to undergo some chemical reactions with the remaining waste ink. After 10 minutes, flush the channels again with distilled water. Draw water into the syringe and inject it into the channels to flush out the cleaning liquid, ensuring that the water flowing out is clear and free of impurities. After a thorough rinse, perform a "reverse ink extraction" once again to remove any remaining impurities that might not have been flushed out by water.   Step 5 - Reassembly: Place the Dampers back in its original position, starting from the nearest channel and moving outward. Activate the printer's automatic cleaning function multiple times to complete the entire cleaning process. If, after multiple automatic cleaning cycles, the test color blocks are still incomplete, then you should consider the possibility that there is air inside the print head causing the issue. In this situation, simply add cleaning fluid to the cap, soak for 5 minutes then restart the automatic cleaning.Problem will solve.     Finally, if you plan to stop using the printer for an extended period due to the need for prolonged absence, it is also essential to perform a manual cleaning before stopping and add some moisturizing liquid after cleaning. This step can protect your print head during the period of non-use.   The moisturizing liquid serves to prevent the print head from drying out and clogging. When the printer is not used for a long time, ink may dry up in the print head, leading to clogging issues. By adding moisturizing liquid, you can keep the ink moist, reducing the risk of clogging and ensuring that the print head remains in good working condition during its dormancy.   When you start using the printer again, remember to perform a test print first to ensure that the print head has been thoroughly cleaned and moisturized, and that the output quality of images or text is satisfactory. This simple additional step will help maintain your printer and ensure its long-term stable operation.

White ink is way more important than other colors in the DTF printing process, and its usage rate is higher than others. If you don't know whether your new white ink good or not, reading this article will help you to find out.   1. Precipitation test (Suggestion: This method is best tested with 2 different brands of white ink) You can pour the white ink into the clear water bottle, shake it then let it stand; then watch the different between the bottles: the slower the sediment in the ink settles, the better the relative quality of the white ink.   2. Print on the DTF machine to see fluency You can print from the length of 10m first, and then increase by the length of 5m, from which to see whether the fluency of continuous ink printing is high or not. Good ink will run smoothly during the printing process.   3. Check the tensile stress You can print a pure white pattern prints, then stretch it. By checking the elasticity, you can know the tensile strength of the white ink. As usual, the higher the tensile strength, the better the quality.   4. Check the purity of color Some ink are just not white enough, you can watch the white ink during the DTF printing process, check the purity by comparing color cards. The whiter it gets, the better it is.   Actually, glycerin and titanium dioxide are two important components that determine the quality of white ink. “Glycerin” makes sure the fluency of DTF printing , “titanium dioxide” makes sure the tensile strength. Although, using the best quality white ink is well known, but due to the printers’ different size of wave patterns in each factory, in order to ensure the smooth printing, which will need different kinds of inks to match. Therefore, it’s best to choose the original matching ink is the highest compatibility in the selection of ink process.   The test condition of AIIFAR's ink test: First, it must be printed continuously and smoothly for more than 30m; Second, if it can pass the test strip. Only the white ink that passes the above two conditions at the same time is considered to pass AIIFAR’s test.   By the way, when it comes to white ink, there is a problem that must trouble you for a long time: the printer’s print heads are always blocked by white sediment. When the printer heads are blocked, you would need to stop running the machine to clean the print heads, which would cost you some precious time. If the number of clogs occurs too many times, you would need to spend extra money to buy a new print head. In the previous article, we talked about the importance of daily cleaning and some theoretical knowledge of printers. Many printers on the market have the MASK function. In many cases, Due to the mask functionIn many cases, the nozzles are blocked and cannot be known in time. So we must use the test function of the printer before each printing to check whether each nozzle is in good condition. Then in this article, I will share how to judge the condition of the test strip and some regular cleaning method of the nozzle.   I will introduce two common situations to judge through color square detection methods that mentioned in the previous article. One of them is a simple case, when all test strips appear some missing printing on different position like the photo1, what means that after cleaning function, there are still ink droplets left in the nozzle. The specific solution is to use the nozzle cleaning function repeatedly until a complete test strip is printed. The second simple case, when all test strips appear some missing printing on same position, after repeated use of the cleaning function.. At this time, it means that the nozzle has been completely blocked. The solution is as follows: put the liquid on the ink pad, reset the printhead position, turn off the machine and soak it for 15-20 minutes, then restart the machine, use the drink function to absorb ink 5-6 times, and automatically clean it for 2-3 times and then test whether the blockage is elimination. Somebody with strong hands-on ability can choose the following way： Prepare two syringes and a clean plastic tube, pure water and regular liquid. 1.First, use a syringe to inject pure water into the print head. Do not use too much force. Slowly inject the print head to wash out the ink in the print head, Then use another syringe to forcefully extract the waste ink   2. After several times to ensure that the pure water flowing out of the nozzle holes is colorless, slowly inject the liquid into the nozzle,drop the liquid on the the non-woven fabric and place the print head on it. After 10 minutes, use a syringe for waste ink to suck out the impurities in the print head, then use a pure water syringe to slowly inject and rush it, and then use a syringe for waste ink to suck out the impurities in the print head again, repeat several times until the print head is no impurities are presented, the pure water dripping from the nozzle is clear.   3.Finally,use pure water syringe with a little force to check whether the water mist is complete and the stream are smooth. Precautions: Avoid water entering the interface between the nozzle and the cable, and no water can enter the nozzle interface. When reconnecting the nozzle to the machine, you must pay attention to the cable sequence of the nozzle, so as not to cause damage to the print head. The whole process should not be carried out for too long, so as not to cause the ink remaining in the nozzle get dry and block again.   Ink selection In addition to daily maintenance of the print head, choosing the right ink for the print head is also an important step to prevent the print head from clogging. In order to quickly solidify on the film, DTF ink is much less fluid than ordinary ink. If the ink is not selected properly, it is easy to cause the nozzle to block, and the nozzle may be replaced within 3 months.Most of the resellers choose their ink suppliers because of the price, not like AIIREY,have the conditions to test whether the ink is compatible with the printer. . In the printing industry, maintaining the nozzle is an essential task, which shouldn’t be ignored no matter before or after printing. I am a test engineer of DTF PRINTER manufacturing company. I have rich test experience in DTF printing. I wrote this article to share more printer knowledge and help more people develop smoothly in printing business.   ●The most important step is the habit of daily use：   Test the printhead before each print, if the testing pattern is not complete, we must clean the printhead and test again until the testing pattern is as complete as possible. In order to make it clear to everyone knowing whether such a test is necessary. Let’s start from the structure of the nozzle.   ●Why do the test strips have to be printed in full every time：   The ink used by DTF printer is known as less fluent because it needs to be stable after printing. Just imagine if a clogged nozzles is ignored by you when the testing pattern is missing. Then after 1 hour of printing, which means clogged nozzles are exposed to air for up to an hour. It may cause the consequence that this nozzles become irreversible clogged completely. Over time, it will lead to a lot of blockage of the nozzle, and finally you can only spend money to replace the printhead. In order to avoid such a situation, you must clean the nozzles before each print, and print out as complete a test pattern as possible each time.   ●How to test efficiently   Straight line detection method In order to understand the status of the nozzle we need to use the Factory-built testing software.At present, the test methods of printers on the market are mainly divided into two types.The first is the straight line detection method.For example, a printhead with 3,200 nozzles needs to print 3,200 lines separately, and then judge whether the corresponding nozzle is blocked by whether the printed lines are complete. But in my opinion this is not an efficient way to detect if 3200 lines are complete.Because I only need to know if the nozzle is in good condition and cleaned, I need the results at a glance, so the situation with the linear test strip makes my judgment very difficult.   color square detection method Another test method is the color block detection method from AIIREY’s 60CM DTF printer, detect whether the nozzle holes are clogged by observing whether the printed color blocks are complete. Although it is not possible to know which nozzle is blocked like a straight line detection, the block can easily see whether the nozzle is blocked. For non-repairable nozzles, knowing which orifice is clogged doesn't make much sense. And the linear test strip is very difficult to see clearly, it is important that we know whether the nozzle hole is blocked at a glance. At the same time, AIIREY ’s 60CM DTF printer is equipped with LED light tubes, which makes it easier for operators to find small defects in the pattern while printing. Many manufacturers will not equipped with LED light tubes if they are not confident in their own printing technology. Whether there are LED light tube can be used as a reference condition for people to purchase new DTF Printer.   The above is a brief introduction to the necessity of cleaning the nozzles and printing a complete test pattern. This printhead has 3200 nozzles, a total of 4 rows, and each row has 800 nozzles on a very small printhead. It is a very precise Component. Any improper maintenance of the print head will cause dust to clog or become clogged by ink solidification.   ●Principle of The MASK program   The nozzle blockage is irreversible and difficult to avoid completely, in order to increase the customer's use time under the circumstance of nozzle hole blockage. All printers currently on the market will added a MASK (feathering) program by most manufacturer. The principle of MASK can be simply explained that when one nozzle is blocked, the MASK program will automatically adjust other nozzles to replace inkjet according to the sequence of nozzles to avoid pixel loss in the image. With the MASK program, can it mean that the nozzle does not need to be cleaned frequently? The answer is negative. Because it means that as more nozzle are blocked, the other nozzle will have to work more, and the printing efficiency will go down until the printing speed begin unacceptable.   Finally. In any case, the nozzle needs to be kept in good condition before printing, and during printing, it is necessary to monitor whether the nozzle status is abnormal and whether the ink is in good condition. Regarding the monitoring during printing, many customers choose to use the flashlight function of the mobile phone to illuminate the printed pattern under the printed pattern to check whether the printed pattern is in good condition. However, for our AIIREY printer, there are LED lamps on the printing end to directly illuminate the printed pattern, so that we can quickly check whether the printed pattern is complete.
